Privacy Policy
UsedBike.Shop is a classifieds marketplace. We introduce buyers to verified physical motorcycle shops in Bangladesh. We do not sell bikes, we do not take payment for bikes, and we never hold your money.
This policy describes exactly what we store, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected].
What we collect
When you create an account — your name, your email address, your password and, if you choose to give them, your phone number and your city. Your password is stored as a one-way hash: nobody at UsedBike.Shop can read it, and we cannot tell you what it is.
When you use a buyer account — the bikes you save, the searches you save, the shops you follow, the bikes you have opened or contacted a shop about, and your alert settings. This is what makes your dashboard work. If you turn on notifications on a device, we also keep the address that device's browser gives us, so we can send them.
When you browse — which listings are opened, which contact buttons are tapped, and what is typed into the search box. Shops are shown this as counts and trends about their own bikes, so they can tell which listings get attention.
When you report a listing — the reason you pick, anything you type in the box, your account if you are signed in, and a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash lets us see the same person reporting fifty bikes; it cannot be turned back into an address.
If you run a shop — your business details, address and opening hours, plus the documents we verify you with: your trade licence, the owner's national ID and a photo of your shop front.
Verification documents
Shop documents are held on private storage. They have no public web address, and they are readable only by site administrators and by the shop that uploaded them. They are never shown to buyers and never published anywhere on the site.
Photographs are re-encoded when uploaded and their embedded camera data is stripped, because a phone photo of a licence usually carries the GPS coordinates of wherever it was taken — often the owner's home.
What we share, and what we do not
When you are signed in and you tap a contact button, that shop is shown your name and your email address. Only that shop, and only for the bike you contacted them about. This is how a shop knows who is asking. You are told this on the bike page before you tap. If you are not signed in, you stay anonymous and the shop sees nothing about you.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We run no analytics scripts, and no advertising script runs on this site today. If we ever switch on Google's ad network, we will say so on this page before it goes live. Until then the site's security policy blocks scripts from every source but our own.
Cookies
A session cookie keeps you signed in and a security token protects forms from being submitted by other sites. That is all. There are no tracking cookies and no third-party cookies.
How long we keep things
Listings expire automatically after a set freshness window (60 days by default) so buyers are not sent to a bike that sold months ago. Expired listings keep their web address, marked as expired, rather than disappearing and breaking links.
Your account and its data stay until you close the account.
Your choices
- See and correct your details — Account → Profile.
- Control what we send you — Account → Alerts. Switch off anything you do not want, and you keep the saved bike or search either way.
- Close your account — Account → Profile → Close account. Your name, email and phone are erased, and your saved bikes, saved searches and alert settings are deleted. What is left, the shops you followed and the bikes you viewed or contacted, stays only as an anonymous record with nothing in it that names you. An account that runs a shop is closed by us instead: write to [email protected] and we will do it with you.
- Ask us anything — [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your information, we will say so on this page.
