Frequently Asked Questions

Short, honest answers to the questions buyers and shop owners ask us most.

For buyers

Is UsedBike.Shop free to use?

Yes, UsedBike.Shop is free to use. Browsing, filtering and contacting shops all cost nothing, and you do not need an account to look at bikes or message a shop. An account is optional.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Accounts are optional. If you make one, you can save bikes and save your searches so you do not lose track of what you liked. An account also keeps the shops you follow, the bikes you have looked at and contacted, and if you switch on alerts it can tell you when a bike you saved drops in price or is sold.

How do I know a shop is real?

Every shop on UsedBike.Shop is a verified physical business. Before a shop can list a single bike, an admin here reviews it: the trade licence, the owner's NID, a photo of the shop front, and whether the trading address matches the licence. Nothing is automatic, a person makes the decision, and only then do that shop's bikes go public. We do not visit shops ourselves. Verified shops show a VERIFIED badge, and you can walk into the shop yourself.

What does the papers status on a bike mean?

Papers status tells you a bike's document situation before you visit. Every listing carries one of three chips, PAPERS CLEAR, TAX DUE or DOCS MISSING, and where the shop has filled them in you also see whether the bike is 1st or 2nd party, whether it has a smart card, and how long the tax token runs. This is the information that usually causes trouble later, so we show it up front on each bike.

What if a listing looks fake or wrong?

Every listing has a report button. Use it. Tell us what looks off and we will review the shop and the listing. Verification is not a one-time stamp. If a shop breaks trust, it can lose its place here.

How do I contact a shop?

Each bike page carries the ways that shop takes messages, WhatsApp and a phone number, plus email where the shop has given one. Pick whichever you prefer. You are talking to the shop directly; we are not in the middle of the conversation.

Can I pay or book the bike online?

No, there is no online payment or booking on UsedBike.Shop. You visit the shop and complete the deal there in person. We never hold your money, so there is no advance-payment risk through us, and you pay the shop directly at the counter only after you have checked the bike.

Should I still take a mechanic with me?

Yes, if you can arrange it. Verification means the shop is a real registered business we have approved. The papers status is what that shop has told us about the bike, not something we have checked. It does not replace your own inspection. Bring someone who knows engines, or pay a workshop to send a mechanic with you; then start the engine, check the papers in hand, and satisfy yourself before paying.

For shop owners

How does a shop join?

Open the "Sell your bikes" page and register with your shop name, your name, your phone number and your city. Then add your trading address and upload your trade licence, the owner's NID and a photo of your shop front from My Shop. Our admin reviews and verifies you. Once approved, you can list bikes. Joining is free at launch.

How do I list a bike I want to sell?

After your shop is verified, add a listing from your panel with photos, specs, price, and papers status. Each new or edited listing goes through a quick admin moderation check before it appears publicly.

Can a private person sell one bike here?

Not directly. This platform is for verified physical shops only. If you are an individual with a bike to sell, the usual route is to sell or trade it through one of the shops here. Many of them handle exchange and trade-in.

What does exchange or trade-in mean here?

Many shops accept your current bike against the one you are buying. You can raise an exchange or trade-in request, and the shop works out the terms with you at the counter.

What does it cost to list?

Listing is free at launch. If pricing changes later, we will tell shop owners clearly before anything applies to them.

About the platform

Why is there no online payment, and is that actually safer?

Yes, and on purpose. We never take your money, so there is nothing for us to lose or mishandle, and no advance-payment scam is possible through us. You see the bike, check the papers, and pay the shop directly at the counter, the way used-bike deals have always worked here. We keep the trust part, shops an admin here has approved and every bike's papers status stated up front, and stay out of the money.

Do you guarantee the bike or the deal?

No. We verify that the shop is a real business and that its papers status is shown. We are not a party to the sale. The final check, the negotiation, and the BRTA transfer are between you and the shop. We give you a trustworthy starting point, not a warranty.

How is this different from a classifieds site?

The difference is that only verified physical shops can list here, and every bike shows its papers status. On a classifieds site anyone can post anything. On UsedBike.Shop each shop is a real business an admin here has approved, and each listing states its papers status, with owner party, smart card and tax token wherever the shop has filled them in.
